The European Space Agency ESA is providing Essential Climate Variables from satellite data within its Climate Change Initiative. In connection with the COP 21 Summit in Paris, ESA asked some of the leading scientists on the essential climate variables to explain what they are measuring within their projects, why it is needed and what it is good for.
