The proprietary IMU/GNSS Integration Unit from NovAtel is used as a 6 degree of freedom reference in kinematic measurement tasks. The Synchronized Position Attitude Navigation (SPAN) system features a tight integration of a NovAtel GNSS receiver and in our case an iMAR IMU-FSAS (with fibre optic gyros) IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) data. As a result one can measure position, velocity and attitude at an output rate of 200 Hz.
